ADVENTURE ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS - Ad Hoc

We’re looking for friendly, practical people to join our team as Adventure Activity Instructors at Clyne Farm Centre, working ad hoc shifts based on customer bookings.

The role focuses mainly on running Challenge Valley, our outdoor assault course, along with problem-solving and team-building activities for families, schools and groups.

The role includes:

  • Leading and managing activity sessions safely and confidently for groups of different ages and abilities.

  • Carrying out basic safety checks of the course before each group, including spotting hazards caused by weather or fallen branches.

  • Helping to set up, pack away and look after equipment and activity areas.

  • Cleaning and tidying activity areas after sessions, including Challenge Valley showers.

  • Working closely with colleagues to keep activities running smoothly.

What we’re looking for:

  • A positive, reliable and flexible attitude.

  • Confidence leading and managing groups, including energetic or boisterous participants.
  • Confidence working with groups of people.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Availability at weekends and during school or university holidays.

  • Experience or qualifications in outdoor activities are welcome but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This is a zero-hours, ad hoc role, with work levels varying depending on bookings. It suits someone looking for flexible, hands-on outdoor work as part of a supportive team. Over 18s only.

HORSE RIDING STABLE MANAGER

Stable Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Stable Manager to join our team at Clyne Farm Centre.

This is primarily a senior yard lead role, combining hands-on horse care and instruction with oversight of the equestrian department. The role includes leading the stable team day to day, maintaining high welfare and safety standards, and taking responsibility for inspection preparation and compliance.

The role includes:

  • Overseeing the health, welfare and suitability of horses and ponies for lessons and hacks.

  • Leading and organising the stable team.

  • Delivering riding lessons and hacks.

  • Managing veterinary, farrier and worming programmes.

  • Maintaining yard standards, pasture management and equipment safety.

  • Preparing for and managing inspections to ensure licensing and compliance standards are met.

This is a practical, hands-on role requiring daily involvement in yard work alongside leadership responsibilities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience managing or leading within a riding school.

  • Is a confident, competent rider able to teach to a good standard.

  • Has strong knowledge of horse welfare and yard management.

  • Is calm, organised and confident leading a team.

  • Is able to work flexibly, including weekends and school holidays.

This role is offered on a zero-hours basis. At present, there are typically 3 to 5 days per week available, subject to season and operational requirements.

HORSE RIDING INSTRUCTORS - Part time

Horse Riding Instructor

We’re looking for a Horse Riding Instructor to join our small, friendly team at Clyne Farm Centre.

Horse riding is a central part of what we do, and this role involves delivering a varied programme of riding and horse-based experiences for children and adults of different ages and abilities.

The role

You’ll be responsible for delivering a range of sessions, including:

  • Riding lessons for children and adults, planning sessions to suit each rider’s experience, confidence and goals.
  • Other sessions, such as led walks, unicorn experiences and horse and pony care sessions.
  • Supervised hacks, ensuring riders feel safe and supported.

You’ll also:

  • Match horses and ponies appropriately to riders.
  • Provide clear instructions and guidance, adapting your approach to individuals and groups.
  • Encourage repeat visits through a positive, welcoming riding experience.

Alongside session delivery, the role includes:

  • Maintaining high standards of safety and animal welfare.
  • Carrying out daily stable duties and horse care.
  • Working as part of the wider Centre team, supporting other areas during busy periods.

This is a hands-on role combining instruction, horse care and customer interaction.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a confident, competent rider, able to ride at an advanced level.
  • Has experience handling and caring for horses.
  • Is calm, reliable and professional with both riders and animals
  • Enjoys working with children, families and mixed-ability riders.
  • Is flexible and happy to work weekends and busy periods.

Experience working in a riding school or recognised equestrian qualifications are desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right person.

Hours and pay

  • Hours available, discussed at interview.
  • The Centre operates seven days a week, so weekend work is required.
  • Pay is dependent on age, experience and role.
  • Holiday entitlement in line with contract type and statutory requirements.
